Our vision is to encrypt the web. Large-scale data breaches are becoming an everyday occurrence: just under 80% of companies have experienced a cloud data breach in the past 18 months, and nearly half reported 10 or more breaches. IBM estimated the average cost associated with a data breach as $4.45 million in 2023, and it continues to grow year-over-year.
We’re building developer-focused tools to make data security and encryption effortless. Encrypting data means that if a breach were to occur the data is unreadable, and therefore the impact is minimized. We think data security should be accessible as standard - not a privilege or a ‘nice-to-have’.
Most efforts to implement stronger security principles are driven by compliance requirements or risk mitigation. We believe that leveraging a "vault" is the most effective way to shift sensitive data from being a liability to an asset — enriching it with third-party data sources, and making it more useful and valuable to businesses that collect it. That way, security investments provide a positive ROI rather than just an "insurance policy" on your existing data.
