Product Update May ‘23
We’ve been busy! Here are our recent product launches, feature updates, and developer demos.
Customers Page
We built a page to showcase the cool ways our customers are using Evervault. Take a look at how Humaans encrypts third-party API credentials or how Ness became PCI compliant in days, not months.
File Encryption is out of Beta
After a successful beta period, all Relays can now encrypt and decrypt files. To see file encryption in action, check out a guide on how to encrypt a file and upload it to S3.
If you’re curious to see it in action, check out how Swan encrypts customer video files.
Blog Rebuild
We're pleased to introduce our blog rework, which focuses on enhancing readability. The cleaner layout offers better prose styling and spacing and improved color contrast for a more comfortable reading experience. Check out the new design and share your feedback. Happy reading!
Cages Updates
- Cages now support an egress allowlist. This lets you restrict your Cages network egress to specific hostnames, providing more fine-grained control than the previous on/off egress mode. You can specify an egress allowlist in your
Cage.toml
, or using the CLI. - You can now lock your Cage down to specific signing certs. Cage images must be signed to be deployed. Our latest release allows you to restrict Cage deployments to images signed using a specific signing certificate. This lets you scope down access to your trusted key pair to prevent rogue deployments.
- The Evervault attestation bindings project now accepts a list of PCRs for a Cage to validate against. This makes the process of moving between Cage deployments easier. Whether it’s during a certificate migration or a Cage update, you can now provide multiple sets of PCRs to trust during the attestation period making it easier to keep your services in sync. This has been shipped to our NodeJS SDK and will be realized in our Python SDK.
- We’ve also tightened access to E3 from within Cages to block traffic where the IP within the token given doesn’t match the remote IP of the connection.
- Lastly, we’ve made further improvements to the throughput of E3 for encrypt and decrypt operations by adding support for short-lived key sessions and reducing serialization during each operation.
Team Activity
We’re excited to announce Team Activity Logs, which are designed to help you monitor activity related to actions within your Evervault team. Each log contains important information about each action, including who made the request, the services used, the actions performed, and the parameters for those actions.
You can access your Team Activity Logs by navigating to the new Activity tab in your Evervault dashboard.
