Frontend engineer

Evervault is encryption infrastructure for developers. The developer experience we create at Evervault is by far the most important driver of our success. Our interfaces are central to this. Underlying technology is not enough to build great products.

We’re hiring a frontend engineer and, in that role, you’ll be making some of the most significant decisions for the company. We’re looking for people that have a strong user-focused mindset with interest in solving real world problems and building surprisingly great product experiences. You’re comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces, have an exquisite attention to detail, and curiosity in learning new technologies and systems.

Frontend engineers build the user experiences that our users consume on a daily basis. Beyond being a great user experience, they need to be performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible. Engineers at Evervault are comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; have exquisite attention to detail; and are comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

You will

  • Create beautiful web surfaces and interactive dashboard experiences using technologies such as React.js (UI) / Next.js (docs, website)
  • Ensure our UI components and libraries are reliable, secure, extensible and accessible
  • Improve our frontend tech stack to dramatically reduce load times and bundle size
  • Work with engineers across the company to build new features at scale
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

You may be a fit for this role if you

  • Can put yourself in the shoes of your users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
  • Can stitch together many different services and processes together even if you have not worked with them before
  • Write high quality code. However, we care much more about your general engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework

You will work on things like

  • Collaborate with product teams to help define APIs and integrate them into our dashboard
  • Help to identify, measure, and optimise for the dashboard’s core flows Create beautiful web surfaces and interactive dashboard experiences
  • Scope, design, and lead technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to iteratively evolve and scale
  • Ensure our UI components and libraries are reliable, secure, extensible and accessible
  • Improving frontend tech stack to dramatically reduce load times and bundle size

  4. Take-home task: A design & implementation task that will help us understand how you think about design.

  5. Coding call: We’ll do an hour call where you extend the take-home task and do some pair programming. This helps us see what it’s like working with each other.

  6. Founder chat: A call with Shane Curran, Evervault’s founder.

  7. Offer: We aim to go from introduction call to offer made within two weeks.
